A Visit to Aurora

Today - I was off to Aurora New York to visit the McKenzie-Childs factory, farm, and home. It is in lovely Aurora, NY. I went with a group of wonderful women and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I purchased a few sale items and was wowed by the home tour....unbelievable. Then we had a relaxing lunch at the Aurora Inn overlooking Cayuga Lake. While McKenzie-Childs had some gorgeous "needlepoint-like" pillows there were no kits available. But if you like to work with fiber and color McKenzie-Childs is just a feast for the eyes and imagination. Wouldn't it be fun to create some knitted items that resemble some of their lovely patterns? Anyways - it was a great day.

Thanks for the great photo, Kate. I have wanted to see the McKenzie- Childs factory in Aurora for a long time! You brought me closer. Love your website. You can do it... create knitted items that resemble M-C patterns... I know you can!

Thanks for the post Sue. It was a fabulous place. Unfortunately they won't be doing tours of teh factory any more after this month. They will, instead, do a demonstration and have a video. However, it is still worth the visit to go to the shop, see the demonstration and tour the M-C home (unbelieveable).
